Riley’s Mom is in the Army or Air Force and is deployed. Her Dad works at a convenience store and has issues - maybe drinking or depression? Riley likes her Dad and her Dad tries but he’s just not really up to the task of parenting. Maybe he goes on drinking binges at home on his days off or maybe has spent time in an institution.
Riley appears to be very extroverted; she loves speech and debate but her nemesis is depression. She’s above-average smart but really has to work to make A’s; B’s are more her norm. Sometimes just getting to school each day is a challenge. But she feels good about speech/debate and it gives her purpose. She loves Mrs. Longpine.
She can read a person really quickly; she is good at sizing up an opponent in speech or debate.
Riley’s Strength - She outworks everybody.
